HYDERABAD: Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association (HRDA) members submitted a representation to CEO Rajat Kumar requesting him to disqualify TRS leader KT Rama Rao from participating in upcoming elections as he allegedly violated Model Code of Conduct.

On November 5, at a meeting conducted by Rural Medical Practitioners (RMP) and Private Medical Practitioners (PMPs) in Rajanna Sircilla district, KT Rama Rao said that according to GO 428 issued in 2015, certificates will be issued to RMPs after they undergo training, and facilities would be provided for them to offer medical services at village level.

HRDA president Dr K Mahesh Kumar said that KTR assured to give the certificates to unregistered medical practitioners though the issue is sub judice before High Court, and that the assurance is an inducement to voters which is a violation under Model Code of Conduct.

“We request you to look into the issue as the assurances he gave will influence the elections,” said Dr Mahesh Kumar.
