Telangana BJP candidate Raja Singh has 43 criminal cases pending against him

The cases have been filed against him in connection with participation in unauthorised rallies and hate speech against Rohingyas and Muslims among other reasons, the affidavit said.

HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP leader Raja Singh, known for his fiery speeches, has 43 criminal cases pending against him and assets worth Rs 2.87 crore, according to his election affidavit.

Singh, who is seeking re-election from Goshamal constituency in the city in the December 7 Assembly elections, filed the affidavit along with his nomination on November 12.

The cases have been filed against him in connection with participation in unauthorised rallies and hate speech against Rohingyas and Muslims among other reasons, the affidavit said.

All the cases were in various stages, including trial and investigation and he had not been convicted in any, according to the affidavit.

The BJP leader has Rs 87.50 lakh worth of movable assets including, Rs two lakh cash on hand, and Rs 2.05 crore worth immovable properties while the total liabilities were at Rs 1.83 crore.

His Congress rival M Mukesh Goud has Rs 6.05 crore worth of movable assets and his wife over Rs 2.77 crore worth assets.

Goud and his wife declared immovable assets worth Rs 4.53 crore and the couple has liabilities over Rs 10.50 crore, as per the affidavit.

He declared that there are no cases pending against him and was not convicted in any.
