Sathya-Monika win Maanada Mayilada Season 6

Actor Dhanush presented them the keys of villas in Puducherry, the title prize, at the Chennai Trade Centre.

The sixth season of Maanada Mayilada, that saw competitive pairs of dancers contesting for the title for the last eight months, came to a colourful culmination on Monday. The pair, Sathya- Monica was announced winners, as elected by the public through votes, and actor Dhanush presented them the keys of villas in Puducherry — the title prize, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam Trade Centre. Their choreographer, Prem, was also given a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.

Asif and Bhavana emerged runners up and were given a cheque of Rs 5 lakh. Karthik and Soundarya secured the third prize – Rs 1 lakh, while Girsh and Sunitha were left with the fourth place. Actor Dhanush said that he has been watching Maanada Mayilada, all these years.

“During the initial seasons, I had a superiority complex, that I could perform better than the contestants. After the fourth season, my ego turned upside down and now I wonder if I too, can perform like the participants,” he said. He also praised Kala, director of the show, for its success.

All four finalists and semifinalist couples staged a spectacular performance, before the prize distribution ceremony. Maanada Mayilada crew also honoured Dhanush as he won the National Award for Aadukalam.

He cut a huge cake as part of the celebrations.
