MUMBAI:  Model-turned-actor Prashant Chawla, who made his Bollywood debut with a gay role in John Abraham starrer ‘Jhoota Hi Sahi’, says it was a risk to play a homosexual in his first film but it was worth it - he is now flooded with TV offers.

"I was hesitant initially, but to be very honest I loved doing the 'gay' role in my first film. People asked me all sorts of weird questions, but it has been fruitful for me. I am receiving good offers. I can say I am flooded with TV offers," Prashant said.

The actor is currently playing a negative role in Star Plus' series ‘Pyar Mein Twist’.

"I have done two soaps earlier, which became a foundation for me to fetch the Bollywood role. I am currently doing 'Pyar Mein Twist' where my role is very interesting. The show is a comedy serial but my character has gray shades," he added.

The Delhi-based actor, who is a qualified chartered accountant, entered showbiz after winning the Grasim Mr. India contest in 2004. He has done two soaps ‘Waaris’ and ‘Teen Bahuraniya’.

"I am looking forward to doing more films and a few projects are in the pipeline too. But I am clear about one thing - I don't want to repeat any of my roles and get typecast to a specific genre," he said.
