India's cricket captain Virat Kohli and his girl friend, the actress Anushka Sharma are reported to have disclosed their breakup to their friends.
A Bollywood website citied sources close to Anushka and Virat as confirming that the couple are not together any more.
The high-profile couple were reported to be experiencing relationship difficulties after it came to light that each had unfollowed the other on their Instagram accounts. However, just last week, Kohli said the unfollowing was due to a technical glitch in their accounts.
However, the website Bollywood Life said the couple disagreed over marriage. Virat reportedly proposed marriage in the new year but the actress turned it down, saying she wanted to focus on her career now.
"Both Anushka and Virat had been considering it (marriage) for some time now," said the site. "While Anushka is busy working, Virat is clearly not over her. Not as yet."
Several high-profile breakups have been speculated upon since the turn of the year. After actors Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor announced their break-up, the Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora relationship has attracted much speculation.
