Jackie & Arnie to star in a Russian-Chinese fantasy flick — Viy-2

If the grapevine is anything to go by, international stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan will come together for a Russian-Chinese fantasy flick Viy-2, produced by Alexey Petrukhin. Most of the Hollywood films which were made during the early 90s were incomplete without either of these two!

Touted to be a sequel to the 2014 hit film that was based on a horror novella by Nikolai Gogol, Viy-2 will have Charles Dance, Martin Klebba and Christopher Fairbank. The first film is said to have grossed around 33.2 million dollars in Russia. Directed by Oleg Stepchenko, we hear, the film, shot in China, budgeted at more than 45 million dollars, is currently in post-production stages.
The movie revolves around the life of an English explorer, who sets out for a long journey, which leads him to China, where he encounters the Dragon King, according to a statement. Reports suggest that this will be released sometime early next year.
