It’s not often that you see a music director travelling to different countries to release one song in each place! Ghibran of Uttama Villain fame will be touring across six countries for his upcoming romantic comedy Chennai to Singapore. He will be accompanied by debutante director Abbas Akbar in this cross-country trip!
Ghibran says, “The album is special to me. The film has a new cast and the team wanted to adopt a new approach launching the audio. When we were discussing how things could be streamlined, I thought why not travel from Chennai to Singapore? At first, everyone thought it was a crazy idea, everything eventually fell in place.”
“There are six, so we will launch it in six places — Myanmar, Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Singapore. From Kamal Haasan sir to my good friend Vijay Sethupathi, everyone in the industry praised the crew for the innovative idea. We’re starting on August 12 from Chennai, but not sure when we would reach our final destination — Singapore,” he adds.
As the team reaches each country, they will release songs on online platforms like iTunes and YouTube. “I will update some pictures and relevant information on FB and Twitter simultaneously. We had to plan a lot regarding our visas and other documents. Initially, we thought of driving to these places, but I know that’s tough. Having put in so much effort, I’m sure the audience will like it.”
