Vidya Balan returns as Begum Jaan, first-look poster released

The first-look poster of Vidya Balan's 'Begum Jaan' is out. The film is set in the partition period and is the remake of the Bengali film, 'Rajkahini'. The poster was shared by the lead actress herself through her own Twitter handle with the caption "Aa Rahi Hoon Main!".

"Begum Jaan" marks the Bollywood debut of National Award winning Bengali director, Srijit Mukherji. The movie is produced by Vishesh Films.

The movie revolves around a brothel situated in the present day India-Pakistan border. If the original flick had Rituparna Sengupta playing the central character, Begum Jaan, who runs a brothel amidst political turmoil, Vidya Balan essays the role in Hindi version.

The movie also stars Gauhar Khan, Mishti Chakraborty, Naseeruddin Shah, Chunkey Pandey, Pallavi Sharda, Ila Arun.

The film will release in theatres on April 14th.
