Ragini Dwivedi, who made her debut in Sandalwood with Holi and became famous after her performance in Veera Madakari, is aiming high with Nayaka. If the buzz among the unit members of Nayaka is anything to go by, it seems that Ragini may become the most sought after artiste in Kannada film industry. Appreciating Ragini’s simplicity and hard working nature, director PC Shekhar said that Ragini did not make any fuss during the shooting of the film.``She is very cooperative and active.
She has a bright future in Kannada film industry,’’ said Shekhar.
Shekhar hails from Bangalore but made his debut as director in Tamil. His film Khaadale En Khaadale got Tamil Nadu State Award for portraying women in good light. Sekhar, along with Naveen, had made short films such as Nee En Nanban and My Imagination. ``Both of us are friends and classmates.
He also acted as hero in Tamil film Khaadale En Khaadale. Roma, who acted in Kannada film Aramane was the heroine in Tamil film,’’ said Shekhar.
Talking about Nayaka, Shekhar said, “The film highlights the importance of promise in a lover’s life. It is different from any other love story. In fact, you can call it an experimental film. The dialogues are not given much importance in this film, which is a romantic thriller,’’ said Shekhar.
The shooting for Nayaka took place in at Bangalore, Madikeri and Kunigal for 50 days.
The film has only two songs. ``This film has two music directors. Arjun has composed the background music and Stephen gave music for songs,” said Shekhar.
The other plus point of Nayaka is Rajendran, who acted as villain in Tamil film Naan Kadavul. ``He is acting as a villain in Nayaka. He can be an asset for Sandalwood.
He even got the best villain award from Tamil Nadu government,’’ the director said.
