'5 Idiots' set to hit silver screen

Master Anand, who made his debut in Sandalwood has high expectations of his upcoming film '5 Idiots'.

BANGALORE: Master Anand, who made debut in Sandalwood as a child artiste, has been graduated not only as hero but also director with the film 5 Idiots.

Apart from handling the megaphone, Anand has also acted as one of the five characters in this comedy-oriented film. "I have to thank my friend Vasu and producers Lokesh, Siva Reddy and Mohan for supporting me to direct this film. The producers have provided whatever I wanted during the shooting," says Anand.

For the first time, Petrol Prasanna, who is known for playing bad boy character roles, will be seen in a complete different role. Vasu, who made debut as one of the heroes in Friends, Naveen Krishna, Tavare are the important characters. Harshika Poonacha and Namratha Hegde also play key roles in this film.

Harshika Poonacha has showered praises on Anand for creating a conducive atmosphere at the shooting locations. "I have learnt a lot from Anand Sir. I think he is one of the best directors in Sandalwood. I am confident of 5 Idiots becoming a huge hit at the box office," says Harshika.

Its audio was released at Bell Hotel recently. Producers and director have prepared a unique plan to promote 5 Idiots. They have organised audio functions at various district headquarters in North Karnataka. The functions were held at Belgaum, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Hubli and Dharwad.

“More than 5,000 people gathered at the audio function at Bagalkot. We have organised a music programme and interacted with the people as part of the promotional activities," said Lokesh.

H N Krishnamurthy has also played an important character in this film. 5 Idiots is set to hit the silver screen next month.
