Here is good news for Kannada cinema fans, who like to see glamour on screen. S K Bashid, who handled the megaphone for Telugu film ‘Allare Allari’, is set to appear on the silver screen with not one heroine but six heroines. The actresses are not only from Kannada Film industry but are also sourced from neighbouring Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Bashid is set to make his debut as a hero with film ‘Benki Birugaali’. The heroines are Ayesha, who hails from Tirupati and debut in Sandalwood with the film ‘Jayahe’, popular actress Namitha, ‘Chellata’ fame Rekha, ‘Kanteerava’ actress Rishika Singh, item girl Alisha and Tamil actress Sandhya.
According to Bashid, the film ‘Benki Birugaali’ was shot over 140 days in Hong Kong, Malaysia and other locations in South India. “Among the six heroines, five will be killed and Rishika Singh will survive. As of now, I can’t reveal more details about the film,” says Bashid. Surprisingly, only three heroines -- Rishika Singh, Alisha and Ayesha -- attended the audio function held recently.
The value addition in Benki Birugali’ is the music composed by Sreelekha, cousin of Telugu music director M M Keeravani. Earlier, Sreelakha composed music for Kannada films ‘Sowbhagya Devathe’ and ‘Madhuve Aagona Baa’. “I am happy to compose music for this film. I expect the music lovers to encourage the audio of Benki Birugaali,” says Sreelekha.
An interesting point is that real life producer of Kannada movies Dinesh Gandhi, who incurred a huge losses by making films like ‘Hoo’ and ‘Mallikarjuna’, is playing the role of a producer in the movie. “There is no training required for me to enact the role of a producer who is shouting at a prospective director. In real life, I have shouted at many directors who wanted me to make films,” laughs Dinesh Gandhi.
Actress Rishika Singh is happy to have got a chance to act in a film that has an interesting script. “Talks are on to act in one more film with Bashid in the lead role. Mallika Sherawat is expected to play a key role in that film. It will be made in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. It is expected to go on floor shortly,” says Rishika, refusing to reveal more details about her role in Benki Birugaali. The film is expected to hit the silver screen next month.
