Sandalwood Queen, Ramya seems to be affirming the tag of being finicky about her decisions, especially when it comes to the roles that she takes up. Recently, the actress was making news when nobody was sure if she was in or out of the film Aryan along with Shivanna. Now, the actress, who was upbeat about her challenging role in Neer Dose has decided to opt out of the project. Ramya tweeted, “I have opted out of ‘neer dose’. Heard the script, it’s a good one but honestly I don’t think I can do justice to it.”
The director of the film, Vijaya Prasad and producer Sudhi are shocked by Ramya’s decision because according to them, she decided to exit from the project three months after listening to her role and also taking an advance of `15 lakhs. “I had given her the one liner she had asked for back then, and she was excited about it. Recently, when she got the reading of her role and the story, she decided not to be part of the project. Ramya revealed to us about her decision a couple of days back while she tweeted about the same,” said Vijaya Prasad.
According to the director, he did not accept such an attitude from an actress who has been in the industry for a decade. “Personally I feel it is highly unprofessional for an artiste to opt out of the project, months after she created a hype that she was taking up a challenging role. We had even paid the advance and readily agreed to pay an amount of `48 lakhs which she demanded. I was supposed to start my project in January but was waiting for Jaggesh to get free as his hairstyle needed to be completely changed for the film. I wanted him to complete his other pending projects and decided to start shoot from February. Now she has wasted our time which is ethically not right,” he asserted.
It is not that Ramya was in the director’s mind, when he wrote the script. “As a director, I write the story keeping the characters in mind and don’t develop the script on basis of the actors. I am not bound to any actor or actress. Now, I have more freedom and this will help me to choose a better actress while I will be all out to make a good film,” he affirmed.
