Muthulakshmi Makes Peace With Killing Veerappan

Express News Service

Seems like the makers of Shivarajkumar-starrer Killing Veerappan and Muthulakshmi, widow wife of Veerappan, have settled their differences. The former has offered to give the money demanded by

Muthulakshmi to make way for the movie's release. Though nothing is disclosed, according to Gandhinagar sources, the settlement has been made with at a  high price. "Muthulakshmi has been paid good money and she is now ready to give a green signal for the film's release. She might call a press conference today," says our source.

Killing Veerappan was initially planned for a Deepavali release but was delayed as the civil court had passed a stay order on the release of Kannada and Telugu versions of the film. This was because when director Ram Gopal Varma had approached Muthulakshmi, back in 2006, to make a film on Veerappan, he was given permission to make it in Hindi and then dub it in Tamil. The agreement was not made for Kannada and Telugu versions and the matter was placed before the court.

Meanwhile, it is said the censors will be watching the film this Friday and if everything goes as  planned, the film will be released on December 11.

On the other end, the makers of Shivalinga starring  Shivarajkumar and directed by P Vasu have already sent their film to the censor and are waiting for the clearance. Even they are set for a December 11 release. "We have discussed this before.

We want to go with the date we had planned, and it will be officially announced as and when we get the censor clearance. We have discussed it with Shivarajkumar and he has no issues with this movie coming out first," says KA Suresh, producer of Shivalinga.
