Shanvi Tries Out Comedy in Masterpiece

A Sharadhaa

Varanasi girl Shanvi Srivastava has many South Indian filmmakers banking on her for the leading lady act. And when writer and director Manju Mandavya wanted a striking pairing with Yash for his upcoming action thriller Masterpiece, he found it in Shanvi. This will be her third Kannada film.

The actress is thrilled mainly because of the opportunity to work with the current heartthrob of Karnataka. “I always wished to be part of big projects and work with big heroes, but never expected the wish to come true. I am glad to have bagged an opportunity to work with Yash. I guess it is going to be one of the best films of my career,” she says.

The actress is now religiously trying to master her Kannada speaking ability before she goes on the shooting sets from tomorrow. “I get the dialogues written in English from the director much before the shoot starts. That is how I prepare myself for all my projects. I don’t mug up the dialogues but read them thoroughly to get used to it,” says Shanvi.

Revealing aspects of her character in Masterpiece, Shanvi says that there is a certain freshness in the role which attracted her to take up the film. “There is versatility and enough scope to entertain the audience with some comedy. Making people laugh is tough and I get a taste of doing comedy along with Chikkanna and others,” she says.

Apart from Masterpiece, she is busy completing portions for her Kannada film with Suman Shailendra in the Telugu remake Ala Modalaindi while also doing a Tamil film. “I am doing a project with Ashok Selvan of Thegidi and Pizza 2 fame. It is again a different character where I have two shades. I don’t think many aspiring actresses get an opportunity to play different roles and I feel lucky that way,” she says.
