Express News Service

The much hyped magnum opus, SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali has notched up a new high after its audio rights were snapped up by Lahari Recording Company. The company spent over Rs  3 crore on the deal, which is supposed to be the highest amount ever paid for music rights down South. The makers of the bilingual flick (Telugu and Tamil) made with a budget of Rs 200 crore, have planned a grand audio event in Hyderabad on May 31. According to Velu, the Managing Director of Lahari music, they are expecting the presence of at least 25,000 people at the event. He says, “My brother G Manohar Naidu and his son Chandru had to fight a tough battle with other audio companies to bag the music rights of the album. In fact music director MM Keeravani, one of the producers, Kovelamudi Raghavendra Rao and director Rajamouli have expressed their happiness with Lahari buying the audio rights. Achieving a coup such as the music album of Baahubali can be considered as another milestone for us. Even though the film is not made in Kannada, we have director SS Rajamouli and actors like Sudeep and Anushka Shetty from Karnataka as part of this big-budget film.
