Dove, which stars Anoop and Aditi Rao and is directed by Santhu, almost took three years before it will finally see the light of  day this week in theatres.

However, Santhu was confident about the film’s release for it stages the launch of producer Sa Ra Govindu’s son Anoop, who is making his debut with this film. The director says, “I understand the delay, which also tested a lot of people’s patience. But some things are not in our hands. I should be glad that the film is out of the cans and is now coming to theatres,” he says.

Even though the film has suffered a delayed release, the subject of Dove still brings out a fresh feeling as it deals with romance, says the director. “Today, as we are going around for publicity, we don’t feel we are outdated. We are getting a positive reaction from people and I hope the same will be seen once they watch the film,” says Santhu, who adds that in today’s age the number of days or months will not be counted as long as the content is good.

“Since it is a matter of love, it still feels fresh in our minds. More so, this is not a story of a girl running behind the boy. It’s a more nuanced script, which is definitely suitable to today’s worldviews and can be viewed by all kinds of audience,” he adds.

The film, produced by BK Srinivas, also sees senior actors like Avinash, Sharat Lohitashva, Rangayana Raghu, among others.
