Teasing Zoom

The makers of the soon-to-be-released film have ensured a crisply packaged teaser

Coming from an advertising background, director Prashant Raj, who has completed his film, Zoom starring Ganesh and Radhika Pandit, knows well that an oyster’s life is captured in its pearl. So before releasing, he put in ample time and editing acumen into the teaser of the film, believing that the crisply edited 40 seconds will go a long way in creating a lasting impact with the audience.

And, the result has gone viral. “The teaser had a separate story board and exclusive music and re-recording done by SS Thaman. The teaser is different from a trailer and I have tried to show the outlook of Zoom in 40 seconds beginning with the entry of Ganesh and songs, romance and the overall backdrop of the film, which starts from India and journeys to Italy,” says Prashant.

He says that the teaser has three parts. “I had initially planned for a minute, but then it looked like a trailer. Banking on my advertising background I knew that a teaser should simply pique curiosity,” he says.

Prashant plans a mega audio release on Valentine's Day and he asserts that the romantic comedy film has been built on a new format, not tried in Sandalwood. “Zoom is a colloquial word in Kannada, which people refer to when they see others happy or excited. This entertainer has the advertising industry as its backdrop, which is a rare subject,” he points out.
