Simplag Innondu Love Story 'Simply' Engaging

A Sharadhaa

Film: Simplag Innondu Love Story

Cast: Praveen Tej, Hemanth, Meghana Gaonkar

Director: Suni

Rating:

When you succeed to awe once, the attempt to do it again should be well thought though. Director Suni's belief is that the sequel to Simple Agi Ondhu Love Story will have the same cult followers of the path breaking film And he has tried his best to bring in the charm in Simplag Innondu Love Story, which clicks to a certain extent. If not awe, there is no yawn either.

There are still signs of his simple thinking  transformed in an engaging one-time watch.

Simplag Innondu Love Story traverses with conversations which take place when a boy meets a girl. A happy-go-lucky Kush (Praveen Tej) sets off on a trip to an unknown destination along with Tube (Hemanth). They accidently meet a demure Kushie (Meghana Gaonkar) who misses her train. She drives with Kush all the way to Karwar in a car which was considered for a test drive. The journey becomes a deja vu experience for both and just when love blossoms, the story takes a turn when they reach Karwar. Kush’s life comes to a halt when he comes to know that Kushie has left for her home without informing him. Not able to trace her, he goes back home along with Tube. Will Kush meet Kushie, who is engaged,  and what happens when the two meet makes for an interesting climax.

Like in his first film, Suni focuses on the lead actors while including a sidekick, Tube.

The film travels through one-liners and quirky dialogues along with a few double-meaning ones, but they do not irritate. Meghana Gaonkar has justified her role while Praveen has put in his best effort as an urbane lover. He is spontaneous but has room for improvement. Little boy Hemanth comes as a lively inclusion.

BJ Bharath and Sai Kiran's music is pleasant with a couple of lovely songs, but the cinematographer could have done a better job.

It is definitely a film for young hearts, but more so, it is a one-time watch for those who loved Simple Agi Ondhu Love Story.
