Anup Bhandari, as a filmmaker, always has offered something exciting for the audience. The director of Rangitaranga has more to offer with his second film Rajaratha, work on which is currently on.

The team has managed to bring in popular actor Arya to Kannada, and he is playing a major role in Rajaratha. Another secret the makers have let out is that film will be a bilingual, to be made in Kannada and Telugu.

Arya

The Telugu version will be titled Rajaratham, and shooting for both languages is currently on.
The role, for which Arya has been roped in, demanded a popular star. After working out all possibilities, the team felt Arya would fit the bill. Anup, who shared with City Express a few pictures from the sets, says, “He is currently shooting with us in Mysuru.”

Anup, who was informed by Arya that he had watched the director’s first film Rangitaranga, was happy to learn that the actor was a big fan of the film. “I had a ten-minute call over which I discussed the character,” says Anup. “I had expected Arya to ask me to come down for further discussion. But after listening to the role, he just asked me about the dates and it worked out.”

Arya, who was keen to work with Anup, seems to be doing this role also out of friendship. “He also loved the character,” says Anup. “My first film Rangitaranaga has helped me reach out to the big actors of south India.”

The bilingual film, starring Nirup Bhandari and Avantika Shetty, will be made under Jollyhits, produced by Ajay Reddy and Sathish Shastry. Rajaratha has background score by Ajaneesh Loknath and music by Anup Bhandari. William David is the film’s cinematographer.
