Malayalam actress Roma, who is on the brink of making her Tamil debut in Vanjikottai Vaaliban directed by S.K, Jeeva starring Sakthi, has been roped in as a witness for the financial company Total4U’s controversial financial fraud case. The firm, owned by Sabarinath, was accused of fooling people into depositing crores of rupees with promises of high returns.

There are a total 320 witnesses for the case. Roma had performed for a Sabarinath produced music album. The charge sheet was filed by the Crime Branch, which was in charge of the case for the past one year, at the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court. Sabarinath, Dr. Remani and Chandramathi Amma are among the 20 accused in the case. The charges against them are that of cheating, conspiracy and forgery.

The Crime Branch has submitted 501 documentary evidences and 308 material evidences to prove that Sabarinath’s financial firms (formed without the permission of the Reserve Bank of India) cheated nearly 1,200 people of Rs.50 crores from April 2007.
