Vani Jayaram felicitated

CHENNAI: Three time national award-winning playback singer Vani Jayaram was honoured at the annual music festival Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru , organized by the popular music troupe Lakshman Sruthi.

Following this, Vani felicitated the noted Shastriya Sangeet singer Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Carnatic singer Shri Ravikiran.

Vani is a very popular South Indian playback singer, who has sung in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and Hindi. Many of her songs turned out to be evergreen hits.

In 2007, Vani was felicitated by 'Dasari Music Academy', 'Guntur' with the title ‘South Indian Meera’. She won the national awards three times for best female playback singer.

Since her childhood, Vani dreamt to become a playback singer and she got her first break in Hindi films when noted music director, Vasant Desai gave her three songs in ‘Guddi’. Vani is also the youngest artiste who was awarded the ‘Sangeet Peet Samman’.

Vani Jayaram is now the judge of a reality TV show.
