Cinematic Currency

Samhati Mohapatra

If the script is strong, even a currency note can be the hero of a film. Out to prove is director ARC Nair in his debut 1000: Oru Note Paranja Katha. Written from the perspective of a thousand rupee note, the film maps its journey from one hand to another, since it is lost from the pocket of Jikkumon, a 26-year-old autistic youth. Touted as a comic thriller, the film has an ensemble cast and is slated to release soon.
