Rana Daggubati is all set to make his Malayalam cinema debut with K Madhu's 'Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma'. Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma was the ruler of Travancore from 1729 till 1758, who defeated potential Dutch invasion at the Battle of Colachel in 1741.
The Telugu star, who played the antagonist ‘Bhallaladeva’ in Baahubali, confirmed the news on Twitter today: “Anizham thirunal Marthanda Varma- the king of Travancore is the character I tell a story as soon. PreProduction in progress."
The pre-production works of this multi-crore flick is currently going on. Robin Thirumala is the scenarist. Peter Hein choreographs the action sequences and Oscar winner Resul Pookkutty is the sound designer.
K Madhu has directed several classics in Malayalam including the 'CBI Diarykurippu' series and 'Irupatham Noottaandu'.
This is the first part of the historical drama followed by another movie on Karthika Thirunal Marthanda Varma who succeeded Marthanda. Stunt choreographer Peter Hein, 'Baahubali' music composer Keeravani, and Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty are part of the project too.
Rana Daggubati had two massive hits this year - 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' and 'Nene Raju Nene Mantri'. The actor has also begun his next Telugu project titled '1945' opposite Regina Cassandra, where he plays a soldier in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army.
The Sathya Shiva-directed '1945' Tamil version is titled 'Madai Thiranthu'. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director. The supporting cast also includes Sathyaraj, Nasser and RJ Balaji.
