Though the makers haven't divulged anything about the story, the buzz is that it tackles a socially-relevant issue. The movie also stars Asha Sarath as Mammootty's wife. This will be the duo's third movie as a couple.

They had earlier paired up in Varsham and Pullikaran Stara.
Uncle will have Bijibal as its music composer. It is being produced under the banner of Abra Films International and SJ Films by Sanjay Sebastian and Joy Mathew.

This is Karthika's second movie. In her debut Comrade in America, she was cast opposite Dulquer Salman.  Meanwhile, Mammootty who is busy with Sharrath Sandith's directorial debut will soon join the sets of Uncle.
