Director: Prakash Rai

IT is a remake of Tamil film 'Abhiyum Naanum' , which was made in Telugu as 'Aakashamantha' .

Prakash Rai makes his directorial debut with this film and has done a good job.

'Naanu Nanna Kanasu' is the story of a father and a daughter. It begins at the backdrop of a tea estate where Uchappa (Prakash Rai), who comes for jogging, happens to meet Jayanth (Ramesh), the father of a four-year-old daughter.

Jayanth finds it tough to meet his daughter’s demands such as buying balloons for other children. Uchappa begins talking to Jayanth. He remembers how he used to help his daughter Kanasu (Amulya) at every stage of her life. He tells Jayanth how Kanasu went to Delhi for higher studies and fell in love with a Punjabi boy.

The film ends with Jayanth realising that his daughter is old enough to understand what is wrong and what is right for her future.

Prakash Rai as a concerned and possessive father is superb. His dialogue delivery and gestures deserve appreciation. It is a different role for Amulya, who is known for playing innocent characters. The actor who surprises everyone with his performance is Achyut. He has even acted well in an emotional song sequence.

Sitara, who makes her comeback after a decade, provides good support. Hamsalekha has done good as the music composer.

The film is a must watch for parents. It’s about how they can treat their kids with love and affection and still give them the much-needed freedom to decide about their future.
