Actor Sharan has entertained the audience for 10 years with his humourous acts. A comedian who has left his mark in 99 films has turned hero in his 100th film, Rambo. “Rambo is a content driven film and the real hero of the film is the story,” he said.
The strength of the script was the reason that Sharan is producing the film along with Atlanta Nagendra. But Sharan turning hero in his own film was not something pre-planned, he says. “At one point, I never wanted to come in to limelight. When I look back today, I have attempted to make people laugh with 99 films. I did not have any intention to play the leading man in this film too as being the hero is not my cup of tea. But I was voted and it was an unanimous decision taken by the team who elected and selected me for the lead role,” he explains.
He assures that Rambo will be a total entertainment film.”I am ensuring that there is no disappointment for anybody with me playing the lead role. You can see Sharan as Sharan in Rambo too. Along with me, the film has a huge star cast with Umashree, Sadhu Kokila, Rangayana Raghu, which itself is a plus point,” he says.
Citing the drastic contrast in the personality of Sly Stallone in the Hollywood flick, Rambo and him, Sharan states that whoever learnt about the film and the hero, had a weird expression on their face. “That’s enough for people to come and watch the film,” chuckles Sharan.
The film is a combination of trademark Sharan with his comedy and a balanced amount of thrill too. “Both are different worlds. You have Sharan to tickle the bones of the audience and at the same time sit on the seat edge bringing curiosity among people. Srinath, the director and writer of the film has brought in the two genres in one film, which is a surprise package,” he says.
Having completed 10 years in the industry, Sharan says, “Acting was never my option. In fact I had run away from the sets after putting on the make-up in my first film. Today, about 100 producers and 1000 technicians have helped me to make a name in the industry. I am ever thankful to all.”
For Sharan, comedy had its place right from the evolution of cinema. “It is a genre that has taken predominant role and will go on forever. At present, people have stopped laughing with the hectic day to day life. They need humour to relax. Though, it is a challenging job, today I am a fulfilled man, when I see people laugh with my punching comedy dialogues,” he says.
