Taapsee Pannu, known for her role in Aadukalam, has been selected to dub for Katie Sackhoff in Hollywood science fiction Riddick. Katie, who is known for portraying strong female characters on screen, plays a nordic mercenary who is on a mission to track down Riddick, alongside actor Vin Diesel.
PVR pictures, the producers who are releasing the film in four languages — English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, were on the lookout for a voice that would resonate with Katie’s character, before deciding on Taapsee. The producers are convinced that the actress can voice Katie with ease, so much so that they have approached her to dub in all three languages. On being chosen as the voice for Katie, Tapsee said, “Yes, I have been approached by PVR to dub for Riddick’s India release in three languages. They have asked me to dub for Katie Sackhoff, who plays the female lead alongside Vin Diesel. This will be a first for me. I hope that I will be able to do it given the fact that I have a packed shoot schedule till end of this month.”
