An Out-And-Out Entertainer

Like every other youngster, Neil John Samuel too dreams of earning a few extra bucks and leading a rich life and a sudden journey changes it all. Money Ratnam, director Santhosh Nair’s debut outing, narrates a 24-hour trip and the subsequent incidents that change the outlook of the young man.

Fahad Fazil plays Neil and Niveda Thomas, his love interest. Peppered with humour, suspense, love and action, this all out entertainer is all about money and how chasing after it can change people for life.

Since the two-hour movie is all about the journey that takes place over one day, many expect it to be shot entirely on outdoor locations. However, director Santhosh clarifies that it is not "an out-and-out road movie. It is a ‘pucca’ entertainer,” says Santhosh.

The film is more of a light-veined entertainer, as the title indicates, he says. A bag of ‘ratnam’ (diamond) that Neil gets unexpectedly is the turning point of the movie.

The film has been shot at many locales including Kochi, Udumalpettu, Pollachi and Sholayar. The film opens in theatres this Friday.
