CHENNAI: It doesn’t get much bigger than this very often! If sources in the film industry are to be believed, Hollywood star Jessica Alba has recently been approached by Warner Bros to do a Tamil film. The movie in question is Venkat Prabhu’s third directorial venture, Goa.
It is said that talks are on with many Hollywood heroines to do a part of this movie, which will be produced by both Ocher Studios and Warner Bros. Shooting for the film is expected to begin in January.
The film is said to be about a gang of friends, played by Jai, Premgi Amaren, Arvind Akash and Vaibhav, and is based loosely on the experiences they encounter with foreigners when they make a trip to Goa. The hunt for a heroine for the movie has been on for long and it is said that the producers zeroed in on the Fantastic Four star, as they thought she would best suit the role.
It is now confirmed that Warner Bros is trying its best to bring home the star, but it remains to be seen if the actress will agree to do the role or not. It is only known that the actress has agreed to give them a hearing and decide if her schedule permits her to do the movie or not.
There were plans to have Shakira visit Chennai for the audio launch of a Tamil album, in the same manner that Jackie Chan had launched the audio of Dasavathaaram.
Talks, however, fizzled out and the pop star didn’t make it.
Goa, meanwhile, has two other heroines, and it is said that talks are on with Sneha and Genelia for the roles.
