The second edition of the prestigious Norway International Tamil Film Festival was held in Oslo from April 20 to 25. This festival was an attempt to bring Tamil films in to the limelight. Nearly 15 films were screened at the festival, including Sun Pictures’ Rajinikanth starrer

Endhiran, directed by Shankar. Several Tamil film directors including Cheran, Radha Mohan, Prabhu Solomon and Vetrimaaran graced the occasion. The film that bagged the best award was Maina and Vidharth won the best actor award. While the best director was given to Radha Mohan for Payanam, GV Prakash won the best original score for Madrasapattanam. Anjali, who caught the attention of the Tamil film industry by her brilliant performance in Angaditheru won the best actress award. The Kalachakaram Award was given to director Cheran and the movie Payanam bagged the Midnight Sun Award.
