CHENNAI: Actress Shirin of ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’ and ‘Whistle’ fame has filed a complaint with Nadigar Sangam against director/producer Sanjay Ram, whose ‘Poova Thalaiya’ is slated for a release this Friday.
Deeming that the project is incomplete and that the amount promised against her role in the film is still unsettled, the actress demands an explanation from the director/producer and has expressed the willingness to complete the project as well. “We commenced shooting in 2008 and shot around five scenes and a song in first few days of 30-day schedule. But there was no intimation after that. I couldn’t contact Sanjay Ram either, because he had changed his phone number,” complaints the actress.
She already complained at Nadigar Sangam about the problem last year and temporarily stopped its release. “The promos of movie are being screened now. So, I have submitted the agreement copy as proof at the Nadigar Sangam,” says the actor.
Shirin is quite amused as to how this project is “complete” with just one schedule of shooting. Rubbishing the claims that she refused to do the film, “Why would I then approach the Nadigar Sangam and say I’m ready to finish the film?” asks the actress.
