Dabangg, the 2010 blockbuster in Hindi starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha is all set for a Tamil remake. Uthamaputhiran’s producers — Balaji Studios’, Mohan Apparao and T Ramesh have bought the rights for the remake amid tight competition. Speculation is that  leading actors and actresses will be roped in for the cast, and the film will go on floors later this year. It is also rumoured that Simbu might play the cop in the film. The movie, which will be remade in Telugu with the title Gabbar Singh, is likely to have Pawan Kalyan donning the cop’s role.
