CHENNAI: Fans can now exhale. Rajinikanth has beaten the fever and allergic bronchitis that had him rushing to the hospital close to a week ago and was discharged from St Isabel’s Hospital on Tuesday evening. His health was described as normal by doctors who treated him.

The actor, who was admitted on Wednesday last, was discharged at 6 PM on Tuesday, sources at the hospital said though treatments had been stopped by Sunday.

“He stayed for a few more days for complete rest,” sources told Express. Dismissing reports that the actor might travel to the US for treatment of a liver condition, doctors said, “He had no liver problems at all, and we have not recommended treatment abroad.”
