Nisha Lalwani is eagarly awaiting the release of her first Tamil movie, Pollangu. The Mumbai-based actress has, after all, put in her a lot of efforts for the movie. “I have also acted in a Hindi movie Sabki Bajegi Band, directed by Anirudh Chawla and I hope both of them will release around the same time,” says Nisha. And it is interesting how she ended up in a Tamil movie that is a thriller set in the woods. “I don’t know who sent my pictures to the producers of the film when they were on the lookout for a heroine in Pollangu. I heard many actors refused to do the movie, but I immediately accepted to do the film on hearing the script,” says Nisha.

What impressed her so much was that the female lead was pivotal to the film’s storyline. “Whatever happens in the movie revolves around her. She goes on a trip to a forest with her boyfriend and the movie is about their encounters there,” says Nisha. The actor is visibly proud of the action sequences  that she performed in the movie without a double.

While she finds Tamil people very simple and humble, she is all praise for director Anirudh Chawla as well. “He is a famous RJ and Sabki Bajegi Band is a one -location moive. It’s about eight youngsters and it deals with how the youth try to hide what they are and how it will eventually be exposed,” says. Basically a theatre person, Nisha is currently part of a play called Pereira’s Bakery at 76 Chapel Road, which is being staged in Bangalore.
