Express News Service

The project that has for long been in the discussion stage — the next movie by Saravanan who debuted with 'Engeyum Eppodhum', is taking off, finally !

Vikram, son of veteran actor Prabhu who is making his debut with Prabhu Solomon’s 'Kumki', has been finalised to play the lead role. Sources have now confirmed that composer GV Prakash has been roped in to score the music.

The young music director, who has a string of commercial hits to his credit in the recent months, has just completed 25 films as composer with 'Thaandavam', is expected to start working on this project soon.

While the rest of the cast and technical crew is yet to be finalised, it is learnt that the film will go on floors in October. Earlier, names like Arya and Vishal were tossed around for the hero’s role, but Saravanan seems to have zeroed in on Vikram after seeing him at the audio launch of 'Kumki'.

The director is yet to narrate the story to the actor. It may be noted that both 'Kumki' and Saravanan’s film are being produced by director Lingusamy’s Tirupathi Brothers.

'Kumki', directed by Prabhu Solomon, features Vikram and Lakshmi Menon, follows Solomon’s successful 'Mynaa'. In the movie, Vikram plays the role of a mahout.

The audio launch of the film recently was a grand occasion in the presence of ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. The movie is expected to hit screens soon.
