It’s no secret that Santhanam is a much sought-after comedy actor today, and heroes want him to be part of their films. However, there seems to be yet another demand in the industry, which even Santhanam wouldn’t have imagined.
Since the actor has had a romantic pair in the film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi as well as in his next Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, it is said upcoming female artistes are vying with each other to share screen space with the comedy superstar.
One such actor, who was approached to play Santhanam’s pair in one of his future projects, told City Express on condition of anonymity: “Initially, when I was asked if I was interested to do the role, I agreed, as I was happy to work with Santhanam. After getting wind of this, many other actors seem to have approached the production house expressing interest for a lower pay.”
Though the actor agrees that upcoming artistes find pairing with Santhanam a shortcut to fame, she couldn’t believe that it would become so tough even to pair with a comedy actor. However, the actor claims that she didn’t sign the film for other reasons.
