The audio of director Pandiraj’s Marina will be releasing today and no points for guessing where it’s happening.
Yes, the audio of the film, which will showcase several characters that are associated with the second largest coastline, is to be launched on the beach itself. The cast and the crew of the movie including the director, actor Sivakarthikeyan, actress Oviya and a group of kids who have acted in the movie - will be present at the Marina beach this morning to witness the audio release function.
And it’s not just the launch that makes this event special. The cast and crew of the movie will look to clean up at least a part of the coast before formally releasing the album. “I have been regularly visiting the beach for quite some time now as we have have had to shoot most sequences of here. I realised that I would have to do something from my side to help keep the beach clean and thus came up with the idea,” says Pandiraj.
According to the director, the movie has five songs - three by Na Muthukumar and two by Yuga Bharathi.
Many leading actors and directors have acted in a song on Chennai. “The song by Na Muthukumar goes something like Vanakkam Vaazha Vaikum Chennai. It has come out well and will be a never-before-heard song on the city. When I approached actor Vikram for the song, he immediately agreed and gave a date despite his busy schedule for Rajapattai.
Prakash Raj sir watched the trailer of Marina and said, ‘My movie is also releasing tomorrow, but still, I will act in the song’. Ameer sir and Sasikumar sir also came forward and we shot their sequences in real slum areas when it was pouring in the city. Similarly, actress Sneha said it was a nice idea and immediately accepted the offer,” says the director.
The album has a song on friendship and one on break-up, both penned by Yugabharathi. There is one on Marina beach and another duet, both by Na Muthukumar. “It’s not like a regular duet song. Just imagine how it will be when Sivakarthikeyan performs for the song in his typical way,” says Pandiraj. About the music director Girish, who debuts with the movie, the director says, “Sivakarthikeyan introduced Girish to me. I asked him to compose the song on Chennai and was impressed by his work.”
