Singampuli to cast Samuthirakani

Express News Service

Director-turned-actor Singampuli, who has 'Maayavi' with Suriya and 'Red' with Ajith to his credit, is all set to direct a movie again. This time around, he is set to cast director Samuthirakani as his hero, and sources say shooting for the film will begin after the latter completes 'Boologam' with actor ‘Jayam’ Ravi.

Singampuli  confirmed the news, but said other things were yet to be finalised. The title and genre of the film will be announced in a couple of days.

It should be noted that Singampuli worked as an assistant to director Bala and is currently seen donning the role of a comedian. His filmography includes 'Mayandi Kudumbathar' and 'Paandi Oliperuku Maiyam', both directed by Rasu Madhuravan.

Director Samuthirakani seems to have become a favourite with many directors wishing to cast him as hero. His movies, 'Saatai' and 'Neer Paravai' will hit the screens soon.
