The film Kumki, directed by Prabhu Solomon and produced by Lingusamy’s Thirrupathi Brothers Film Media Private Limited, was bestowed with Shri B Nagi Reddi Memorial Award 2012 on Wednesday. Governor K Rosaiah presented the award to Prabhu Solomon at the Music Academy in the presence of lyricist Vaali, music director M S Viswanathan, actor Devayani Raajakumaran, the film crew and the members of Vijaya Group.
The award carries a citation, a memento and cash prize of Rs 1,50,000. Last year, the film Ko directed by KV Anand and produced by Elred Kumar’s R S Infotainment received the Nagi Reddi Award.
Remembering Nagi Reddi, Rosaiah said his contribution to the film industry was so paramount that it helped his peers and competitors alike to compete and make good films. “He was very particular in making family entertainment films which could be enjoyed by every section of society,” he said. The Governor added that Nagi Reddi was the first person to establish and promote the idea and vision of multispeciality hospital when people were thinking only of polyclinics.
Venkatram Reddy, chairman of Vijaya Group, General Manager D Rambabu and Bharthy Reddy were present on the occasion.
