Express News Service

Actor Sarathkumar’s latest movie Sandamarutham is expected to make a bigbang this August.Terming the film a commercial action and emotional thriller, director A Venkatesh said the audience will get to see Sarathkumar in a dual role  — both as a hero and villain “The  film conveys a social message. The dialogues and screenplay are conceptualised by crime writer Rajesh Kumar,  lyrics are by NA Muthukumar and music is by James Vasanthan. It has all the elements to make Sandamarutham a commercial hit,” he said.

But why the title Sandamarutham?  “It refers to the wind that blows stronger than a cyclone and the social message in the film is expected to be carried across to the audience with the same intensity,” he said.

Sarathkumar said the subject was one that caught him first. Finding an able director in Venkatesh was another crucial reason why he chose the project.

The film stars Sarayu, Avani Modi and Radhika Sarathkumar. The film was shot at various locales like Chennai, Madurai, Palani, Pollachi, Pune and Varanasi. Produced by Magic Frames Film Company, it is  expected to hit theatres in August. The bhoomi pooja and the canning of the first shots, held recently, was attended by director A L Vijay, Arun Vijay, Ramky and Manobala among others.
