Sarath Kumar, G V Prakash to team up

S Subhakeerthana

Though actor-politician Sarathkumar did films like Chennaiyil Oru Naal (2013) and Nimirndhu Nil (2014), it was Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana (Muni 2, 2011), which gave a much-needed market boost especially for having portrayed the role of a transgender effortlessly.

Now, the star is all set to do something different in an untitled flick where G V Prakash plays the male lead. “Sarath will be playing a dual role and he’s learning sword-fighting. Besides playing the hero, Prakash will also compose music for this film,” said the source.

The film, directed by newbie Shanmugam Muthusamy, will have Vaibhavi Shandilya of Server Sundaram fame, playing the female lead. Produced by Sri Green Productions, Thambi Ramaiah, Robo Shankar, Arunraja Kamaraj, Blade Shankar, RJ Mirchi Vijay form the rest of the star cast.

We hear that this project will take off when Prakash completes his existing films like Bruce Lee, Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru, a romantic drama with cinematographer Rajeev Menon, and an untitled one with director Sasi of Poo (2008) fame.
