Director Abdul Majith, who is best known for his Vijay-starrer Tamizhan (2002), has now directed a film titled Paisa. The film features Sriram of Goli Soda (2014) and Kaaka Muttai (2014) fame in the lead along with Aara, a newcomer. “This film, like Kaaka Muttai, will be set in a slum. It is about the life of ragpickers. We know we need money to live, but what if life iself is money? If money assumes priority over everything else, then life goes missing. This is what this film will seek to emphasise,” says director Majith. Apart from Sriram and Aara, the film will feature Nasser, Mayilsamy, Madhusudhanan, Sentrayin and Raja Simhan. “Velmurugan was the film’s cinematographer. James Victor, who prefers to be called JV, is making his debut as a music director with this film. We are looking to release it on either April 14 or 22,” says the director..”
