With Vishwaroopam 2 nearing completion, the buzz on Kamal Haasan’s next mega venture, Indian 2, is gathering steam. The sequel to the hit 1996 film will once again be helmed by Shankar but contrary to earlier reports, Dil Raju will not be producing this film.
The reasons cited vary from high remuneration of the cast and the crew to the huge royalty that the producers of the original film are demanding.
Lyca Productions will now be bankrolling the film, which already has Ravi Varman on board as director of photography and Muthuraj as production designer. It is worth noting that Ravi Varman has already worked with Shankar on Anniyan, while Muthuraj has collaborated with the filmmaker on I and 2.0.
Indian 2 team has been on the lookout for a music director for sometime now. Anirudh Ravichander is said to have made it to the top of their shortlist and looks set to bag the film.
