Tamizh Padam, the first spoof film in Tamil cinema, is all set to get a sequel.

Titled Tamizh Padam 2.0, CS Amudhan will reprise his role as the director and Sashikanth of Y-Not studios, who bankrolled the recently-released Vikram Vedha, will produce the film.

Talking to CE, Amudhan said,

“The script is ready, but it’s too early to reveal much about the project. The casting is happening, and as of now, only Shiva is confirmed.

The crew will mostly be the same people who worked with me last time, and shooting will commence in two months.”
Tamizh Padam released in 2010, and had Shiva and Disha Pandey in the lead.

The supporting cast included MS Bhaskar, Moorthy, Manobala and Paravai Muniyamma. It’s not yet clear if they will all reprise their roles in the sequel.
