Vishnu, who was part of TV serials like Kana Kaanum Kalangal and Office on Vijay TV, is debuting as a hero with Ivan Yaar Endru Therigiratha, which releases this week. Directed by Suresh Kumar, the actor says it’s a “fun-film”.

Vishnu says he always wanted to become a big screen artiste and has no plans to shift back to acting in soaps. He adds, “I have been getting a lot of offers to act in TV, but I didn’t accept them because cinema has been my priority.” Ask him about the transition from small screen to cinema, he smiles, “Office was received well by the family audience. It gave me a lot of confidence to pursue films full-time,” he shares. Vishnu feels that artistes need to adapt themselves to the medium given.

“I look up to Ma Ka Pa Anand and Sivakarthikeyan. They have made it big on their own. I am also interested in hosting TV shows. I am keeping my options open,” he smiles. Up next, he’s doing a film titled Kalari. “I am sharing screen space with Krishna. I am doing a negative role and am looking forward to it,” he says.
