Power Star Pawan Kalyan can breathe easy again. With the numbers coming in, ‘Gabbar Singh’s opening day collection is set to rewrite the Tollywood records with an estimated Rs 12 crore and over turnover.

Besides doing well in India, the movie is also raking in well abroad, including the US and the UK. Around $ 577,090 (about Rs 3 crore) was collected over the opening weekend in USA. There were premiere shows arranged at many cities in USA, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, Netherlands, Dubai and Kuwait. After ‘Panjaa’ had an abysmal performance, and his earlier movies like ‘Teen Maar’ also barely creating a ripple, the remake of the Salman Khan-starrer ‘Dabangg’, has given the actor a new lease of life in the industry.

Besides doing well at the box-office, ‘Gabbar Singh’ also became one of the top subjects to trend on Google as fans and the film fraternity googled to search for reviews, show timings etc.

On the microblogging site Twitter too, literally everyone had something to say, including the usually controversial Ram Gopal Varma. He tweeted, “Gabbar singh is a blockbuster telugu remake of Dabaang directed by @harish2you whch evry1 is syng is far mre superior 2 evn original Dabaang (sic).”

He also tweeted that it’s bigger than a blockbuster.
