HYDERABAD: Short film Natyam by writer and director Revanth was out on Friday.  The filmmaker held an exclusive media premiere on Thursday. Director Revanth and the lead lady of the film Kuchipudi artiste Sandhya Raju along with G Madhusudhan, General Manager, Kirtilal Jewellers addressed the media post the preview of the movie.

Natyam is a tale of a talented woman (Kalyani) dream that would have faded away if not for her grit to make it real. The movie is about her journey.

Sandhya Raju is convincing as the beautiful, passionate Kuchipudi artist Kalyani. The viewers will certainly not able to take their eyes off her debut performance as an actor. The director has presented the plot well and keeps the audience engrossed till the finale.

As Kalyani she portrays the internal conflict between external comforts and thirst to pursue her inner passion perfectly. She flawlessly sinks into the role and transforms herself into this mythical Kuchipudi beauty while her co-star adapted well to his role as a husband who is determined to make his wife’s dream come true.  

“As an artist I feel Natyam will inspire many women who relates to the role played in the film by me. What brings joy to me is that the film is being showcased to the world on the eve of International Dance Day it is a compelling tribute to a great art and its revival.” Sandhya Raju says.

Young aspiring filmmaker Revanth is adept in telling a new story that highlights marital conflicts of an aspiring artist. 

It is about dreaming and turning your dream into reality.  Set in the backdrop of family bond and commitments. Above all it is an entertaining short film with a purpose to promote art, to communicate a message, to experiment and to reach out millions of family that deal with conflicts like Kalyani’s. 

Speaking to the media Sandhya Raju and Revanth said they wanted to thank Kirtilals who encouraged and funded the film. “This genre of  Indian short films are starved of attention and viewership otherwise,” they add. Sandhya Raju’s short film trailer that was released on YouTube earlier has been applauded by viewers and from all directions. The makers of the film are confident that the film will certainly meet the expectations of the audience.
