Death given, fate awaited: A look of convicts awaiting the noose in India

Here's a look at the number of convicts given death penalty and the convicts who are presently on death row presented as a statewise figure.

According to data by Project 39A, National Law University, 720 prisoners have been executed in independent India although thousands of death sentences were meted out. Currently, there are more than 400 convicts waiting for the warrant in jail.
