MOSCOW: England lost a golden chance to reach their first final since 1966, going down 2-1 to Croatia after extra-time in Moscow on Wednesday.

The tournament's top goalscorer with six goals, England skipper Harry Kane missed a huge chance to give England a better lead in the first half. However, as a consolation, Kane could likely get the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot for the top goal-scorer in the tournament.

Following are the top scorers after the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup in Russia:

  1. Harry Kane (England) - 6 goals

  2. Romelu Lukaku (Belgium) - 4 goals

  3. Denis Cheryshev (Russia) - 4 goals

  4. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) - 4 goals

  5. Artem Dzyuba (Russia) - 3 goals

  6. Antoine Griezmann (France) - 3 goals

  7. Yerry Mina (Colombia) - 3 goals

  8. Diego Costa (Spain) - 3 goals

  9. Edinson Cavani (Uruguay) - 3 goals
