MTV Awards return with irreverence and twists intact; salute 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Stranger Things'

The MTV Movie & TV Awards show returned this year with its 26th edition, maintaining its traditional irreverence this time too, if not taking it up a notch. This time saw the awards introducing a policy of breaking down gender barriers, as men and women competed jointly in the acting categories.
